Greetings, Ann and fellow ARFs. Today in Illinois it is so beautiful, clear, 70s and breezy that I wish Ann s new book was out so I could sit on the porch swing and read the afternoon away. It is that kind of day. I can never put her books down until I have read them through. Then I read them again right away to catch everything I missed in my first rush read! Then I go back and read them all again about once a year. No one can write like you do, Ann.

Ann, I love your books - I have read nearly all of them and sometimes believe I remain single because of them. I would like to share a tidbit - I grew up with "Charlie" (as we called him) Campbell and I can assure you he never tried to protect Susie if anything he abused her. In addition he was always strnage. Once when I was about 12 and he eleven he tried to attack my younger sister and I in an abandoned house in the neighborhood. I knew he would do what he was threatening to do so with all the adrenaline I could muster I threw him over my back. He landed in broken glass and cut his arm quite badly giving us time to run out of the house. I have never forgotten this and never will forget how awful Charlie was even as a child. Thanks for all your hard work. Sharon

Hello All!! I'm actually in Gig Harbor now! Anyhoo..ANN..don't know if you heard but yesterday some construction crew dug up a woman's body in Cle Elum..they cannot tell how long she has been there. I was trying to remember one of your books..had a murder in Cle Elum area..and the body was never found..or am I wrong? Perhaps one of Ted or Gary's lost victims has been found?

Ann,
I have ready many of your books and enjoy them a lot. I just finished your book about Ted Bundy. Your description of him at the end was very interesting to me. I have 2 children with autism, the oldest with what is called Asperger's Syndrome. You described Ted as having an antisocial personality. I was fascinated by the similarities between your description and the description of autism. Have you heard similar things before? Do you think he may have been autistic? I ask not because I think all autistic people are killers or because I think that would have caused his behavior. I am mostly just curious.

BARBARA - you sweet soul. I am sorry about your mom - injuries are hard at her age. It is wonderfully kind of you to help your dad. I send your family good energy. JERRI - don't beat yourself up. You raised your children and now are raising your grandchildren - you should be sainted. Love doesn't have to be perfect. I just read a book about a man here in TX that killed his ex-girlfriend because she told him she was pregnant with his baby. The baby ended not being his anyway, but he didn't want his wife to find out so he murdered this poor PREGNANT woman - and her 7 year old son that was trying to protect her. It was an absolutely fascinating story, but terribly written. I won't say the name of the book here on ANN'S SITE, but so much of the story was not researched - especially the backgrounds of the people involved. You had no sense of who anybody really was. On top of that, it was just incomplete and it did not flow like ANN'S books. My friend and I exchange books often (he has over 30 years in law enforcement) and both of us read the book - and both of us said if only ANN could have written it, it would have been incredible. As a footnote, I need to add here that at 46 I tried a cartwheel over the weekend. I havne't done one in years. It should be next Labor Day before I recover. The old gray mare ain't what she use to be. Wow.

Hi ARFS, I've been reading this as much as can and i wish i could say I was a good mother I wish I could say I was one but I wasn't. I tried. I was a "yeller" and did not show affection as much as I should have. Since I raised Ash and Josh the strain is even more. I know I was so into the raising the kids when they were younger I think I lost the closeness I should have done with them. I am trying harder with Josh but again he seserves better. I think the "leave it to Beaver Mom" is just that fanasty. However I've known Mothers that do it well. I love my kids and hope someday they will see that. Ann glad to see your posts means you are doing better. already ordered the book and cannot wait... work is overwelming soon I keep saying soon I'll retire!!!! Canyon Pam stay warm this week it gonna be colder in your mts. love to all you Arfs...jerri
