| LAUREN: Thank you for your info. Our nephew, also adopted, was a troubled boy from day one. Never able to attend regular school, behavioral problem always, cruelty to animals, ADHD, violent behavior, law problems. I think he might have also been schizoid but I am no shrink. He was facing trial for aggravated assault against a police officer and died suddenly from overdose three days before trial began, I think a suicide but parents deny that. A very violent kid, very threatening, very dangerous. Likable, though and extremely intelligent. Quite a dichotomy. Too bad. I must ask: WHO is Lynn Turner?? Also, anyone else dealing with a narcissistic sociopath on a daily basis??? I need help and advice coping with my abusive elderly parent. I am an only child and no spring chicken. No relief anywhere for me, it seems.

I live in Georgia and just saw this mornings headlines. Lynn Turner was found dead this morning at Metro State Prison. No word on cause of death yet. It seems like you wrote or were writing the story about the "Antifreeze Murders."

| DEBRA LYNN - you asked about sociopathic personalities....I work for a woman that has 3 children. Her first is an adopted child from someone else in the family. He was a 2 year old in diapers - in a crack house - when she swooped in a saved him. He looked darling, just like the kid on 'Jerry McGuire' with spikey blonde hair and glasses. He was loved and doted on. He couldn't bond and started abusing the family dog. At 9 years old he was injured in sports and told his school his parents did it. The household was turned on the side and the other children were in peril. After being cleared of charges, the woman I work for asked the boy why he said what he did. His response? "You shouldn't of made me mad". He is now in a boarding school and has a college fund, but is basically cut loose from the family. I am sad because it wasn't the kids fault, but I am not special enough to deal with someone without a conscience. When some one doesn't have any trace of a heart, I don't think you can grow one.

| Rae: Loved what you said about getting the munchies. No, not humid here, just pilot (cook) error. Arletta: Re the “cake-ish” cookies, I think you’ve been speaking with our mutual friend. As far as adjusting for high altitude, the directions were for anything over 5,200 feet, and I’m at 5,700. I just might try what you say, though -- I mean anything should be an improvement. We’ve got to stop this back and forth. I don’t want to be accused of being a Guestbook hog today. Too late, I know.

Pammer, your choice. I think you didn't have to alter the recipe. If you did then they were probably cake-ish right?

Actually, it's better to be high when baking, because then, when you get the munchies, you won't have to drive to the store. Pam, was it humid where you are today? Sometimes humidity can have a bad effect on high altitude recipes.
